Urban development with a difference

aspern, the Urban Lakeside in Vienna’s 22nd district, is Europe’s largest urban development area. This city of the 21st century is being built in several stages on an area equivalent to 340 football pitches. It will offer high-quality living space for approximately 20,000 people and for also 20,000 jobs. aspern Urban Lakeside combines living and working, green and urban, high quality standards and room for individuality. 2014 saw the starting signal for the first Urban Lakeside pioneers. Since 2013 the  U2 metro takes you directly to the city. By 2016 there are around 6,000 people in 2,600 residential units.

A growing business location

20,000 jobs will be created in the Urban Lakeside; of these 15,000 will be in the offices and services sector and 5,000 in industry, science, research and education. In total buildings with around 2.2 million m² of gross floor area are planned.

Since 2012 pioneering work has been carried out in the technology centre Seestadt by technology-oriented, innovative companies such as abix, Theobroma Systems or the ASCR Research Society. Over 500 employees research, develop and work in the neighbouring HOERBIGER technology group. Whether already established or new to the neighbourhood, this innovation hotspot grows with each new Urban Lakeside company.
